A)

Throughout my life I have been exposed to video games. This is shown in the amount of consoles I have owned/played. One of the reasons I have played so many video games is due to my father being a big fan of video games as he grew up writing games before you could go and buy them when he was younger on old computers. A large majority of my friends also grew up playing video games and we would go round each others houses playing games together. The majority of the older devices were not my own consoles however the majority of the newer devices have been my own as I no longer am limited to what my dad would play on the playstation. I have owned an almost equal amount of handheld consoles to home consoles as growing up I was limited to playing games aimed at younger people, which would normally be released on handheld consoles. Around the time of the playstation 3 was when I would say I became an even bigger fan of gaming due to my father working at Playstation and bringing home games which I wouldn't usually pick out. I also was able to play games which had a more mature rating due to getting older.I am also now more interested around what is coming out, and gaming culture in general as I am now older and have more access to articles and sites about video games. Social media also plays a big aspect in what I play and who with as it helps me see what new games are coming out and it helps me communicate with friends and tell them when to come on the playstation. I now play more games on my phone than I used to due to the time spent commuting to college and not having much else to do on the train.
B)

Killer: A killers play style will be that they enjoy going around and dominating other gamers and find any way possible to try and beat other people.
Socialiser: Socialisers will play games to communicate and meet new people.
Achiever: An achiever will play a game to try and get 100%and will try and unlock everything in the game.
Explorer: An explorer will play the game to find new things on a game such as easter-eggs.

I believe that I am a killer as I always find killing people and dominating them in games such as GTA V. I don't believe that my statistics for explorer are very accurate as I do enjoy exploring new maps and locations.

Summary:
The thing that every single one of these games has in common is that without a rule based system implanted into them they would not be enjoyable and would not work as games. Some of these games will play off you're emotions, For example if you win in Muay Thai you feel a sense of achievement if you win, However if you loose you either can feel like you might quit or you want to practice more to achieve more. These feelings can also be achieved from a Video Game for example in a story game once you complete a level you feel good and keep wanting to play the game. Games are designed to play on you're emotions and manipulate them to make you relate to the characters, If a game fails to do this it will most likely not be enjoyable to the consumer.
